D'Amore Named National Cyber Scholar
Miles D’Amore has been named a Scholar by the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation for his performance in the CyberStart America program. He was one of the top 430 highest-scoring high school students in Georgia out of over 6,800 students in the state.

Lakeview Student Wins Essay Contest
Middle School student John Grimsley won first place in the Gainesville City Council's essay contest celebrating Georgia Cities Week. The contest was open to all sixth-grade students who attend school or are homeschooled in Gainesville. Students answered the prompt “If I were Mayor, I would…” John was presented with a certificate of achievement by Mayor Sam Couvillon at the May 16 meeting of the city council. |
Athletes Named to All-State Soccer Team

Liam Weidner and Jay Davé were named to the GIAA AAA All-State Boys Soccer Team and Annie Nivens to the All-State Girls Soccer Team. Previously, Liam was also named Region Player of the Year, leading the Lions to an undefeated 8-0 region championship. Both the boys and girls soccer teams made the Elite 8 state playoffs this year. |
Lions Make All-Region Baseball Team
Ricky Brown (1st Team), Logan Stanley (1st Team), and Jarrett Atwill (2nd Team) were named to the GIAA 4-AAA/AAAA All-Region Baseball Team. Their efforts helped the Lions make it to the state playoffs. |
Our camps appeal to a broad mix of interests, abilities, and ages, (3-year-olds through rising 12th grade) and are open to children throughout the community.

Summer Assignments and Practice for Students
Students in grades 6-12 have summer assignments with the majority due the first day or week of the 2023-2024 school year.
Reading is an essential part of any child’s academic development. While not required, to help families choose developmentally appropriate texts, a curated list of suggested books is available. In addition, Lakeview Academy encourages all rising fourth- and fifth-grade students to spend time reading regularly and reviewing their math concepts over the summer.

Summer Hours and Back-to-School Dates
Lakeview will be closed on Fridays beginning June 9 - July 28 (except for summer programs), and division offices will have limited hours. The business office will be open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am-4:00 pm.

IMPORTANT: Pickup Prescription Medications from the Infirmary
If your student has medication that you have provided to the school nurse, you must pick it up in person no later than THURSDAY, May 25. A parent or guardian must sign out the medication. Medications may not be sent home with your student.
Any medication remaining in the clinic after May 25th will be disposed of according to protocol.

Have Uniforms to Donate?
Please consider donating your gently used uniforms and spirit wear to the LPA. A back-to-school used uniform sale will be held in August.
Donations may be dropped off at the Lower School Office through Wednesday, May 24. Please drop off current uniforms only. Regular clothing, orange polos, or shoes will not be accepted. Thanks!
