From the School Nurse
Healthy Eating for Better Academic Performance
As we approach the final weeks of school and end-of-the-year assessments and exams, a student's diet can impact their academic performance.
Eating a healthy breakfast is associated with improved cognitive function (especially memory), reduced absenteeism, and improved mood. Students often report to the infirmary mid-morning reporting stomachache and sometimes dizziness or lightheadedness. Most of the time this is resolved with hydration and food.
