Lady Lions Are Region Basketball Champions!

 
Lakeview's Lady Lions won the GIAA Region 4 championship Friday night 53-40 over George Walton Academy. The varsity boys finished second in the region. Next up for both teams are the state playoffs. The Lady Lions play at home Tuesday in the first round, and the boys go on the road Wednesday.

Region Player of the Year | Region Coach of the Year

 
Taliah Gaither was the unanimous selection as Region Player of the Year. Karen Towles, the varsity girls interim coach, was named Region Coach of the Year.  Dynesty Putman, Kivna Bogne, and Sidney Corbin were named to the All-Region Team. Tayden Ware, Justyce Sadler, and Jack Collins were named to the Boys All-Region Team, and Liam Weidner and Brock Graham were Honorable Mention.

Middle School Robotics Team 16th in State

 
The top First Lego League (FLL) teams in the state of Georgia competed at the University of Georgia recently for the championship. Lakeview's Blue Lions wrapped up their successful season by finishing 16th in the state! They created innovative solutions for renewable energy sources for judging.

Sixth Graders Selected for State Honor Chorus

Sophia Ferraro and Mary Beth Magnus were selected to participate in the 6th Grade Statewide Honor Chorus. They rehearsed and performed with the chorus of 500 students from across the state this weekend in The Classic Center in Athens.

Thespians Earn "Superiors" at State Conference

Lakeview Academy thespians, along with 6,000 other students, attended the State Thespian Conference in Columbus, Georgia. Leyla Ozcelik was one of only 10 from 157 entries chosen to perform her Dance Thespy in the Closing Showcase. Lakeview submitted seven performances for consideration in the International Thespian Excellence Awards (Thespys), and ALL seven were given an overall superior rating. College Counseling


Congratulations Seniors! Many college acceptances are still a month away, however, Lakeview's class of 2023 has already received 102 acceptances from schools across the nation, including New York University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Wisconsin, The Ohio State University, and Georgia Institute of Technology.

Submit Your Child's Artwork for Exhibit

The annual Youth Art Month is an exhibition for kindergarten through 12th grade students sponsored by the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, and Brenau University. Students will compete for honors and college scholarships.
